Welcome to The District’s Urban Art Experience — a free, accessible, self-guided trail of murals and sculptures across The District Docklands.

This is one of the first and most beloved murals at The District. The mural depicts a magical scene filled with unicorns, fairies, and whimsical creatures among colourful waterfalls and glowing mushrooms.

To make this experience inclusive for everyone, you are invited to touch and feel the different tactiles that have been thoughtfully designed and installed by our friends, Sensory Pod Australia.

This immersive installation, is a gift from ArtVo, located on level 1 at The District. It brings the magic of Disney’s Frozen II to life. Featuring Elsa standing confidently within a glowing snow globe-like sphere, the artwork captures a sense of fantasy, adventure and imagination. Surrounded by swirling autumn leaves and reflected light, the installation invites visitors to step into the scene and become part of the experience.

This vibrant sculpture has captured hearts since landing at The District in March 2025.

Much more than a popular photo spot, this artwork celebrates the wonder birds bring to our world—their songs, their colours, and their crucial role in keeping the environment healthy.

This enchanting mural brings Jack’s whimsical story to life, engaging young visitors and sparking their imagination. For adults, it symbolises life’s journey of ambition and risk-taking, highlighting that effort and adventure lead to rewarding discoveries.

Cowabunga! This dynamic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) mural was brought to life for the TMNT Exhibition in November 2024, presented by Rose Staff and Eddie Zammit in collaboration with Paramount+.

Bursting with energy, Donatello, Leonardo, Michelangelo, and Raphael are all here, each defined by their signature colour and weapon.

This 150-square-metre interactive mural was brought to life to reflect a vibrant spirit of the Docklands, weaving together local landmarks, sculptures, and natural scenery.

True to its name, the mural transforms after dark. Envision a magical shift from day to night as hidden details are revealed under UV black lights.

This striking artwork is crafted around four key elements: fashion, a bold yellow ribbon, lively floral patterns, and the distinctive shape of the wall itself.

The District’s Urban Art Experience Collection takes approximately 1 hour to complete, including around 32 minutes of audio content and 20 to 30 minutes of walking time. However, there’s no time limit — we encourage you to explore at your own pace. Grab a coffee, take a break in one of the seating areas, and spend time admiring the murals and artworks along the way. There’s no need to rush! Make sure you take plenty of photos.

100%! As an open-air art gallery, The District is fully accessible for wheelchair and pram.

Do you provide a tour guide for this experience?

The District’s Urban Art Experience Collection is fully self-guided experience, which means exploring the trail at your own pace, using the map and audio guides to help you navigate rather than being led by a human guide. This gives you a full flexibility to experience the trail at your own pace and time.

Is there an accessible toilet onsite?

Certainly. Please see the blue markings on the map which indicate where accessible toilets are located.

Is there a quiet hour for this experience?

While we do not have a dedicated quiet session for this experience, we recommend that you explore the trail during the non-busy time, such as early morning (perhaps with a coffee in your hand!)

Is the experience service animals and dogs friendly?

Yes, certainly. The District is welcoming and accessible for service animals as well as for your furry friends.

Does this experience have blind or low vision supports?

Yes, it does. Thanks to our friends and Sensory Pod Australia, we have Braille signage at each mural and tactile elements at the Enchanted Forest mural.

Will there be any other sensory developments in the future?
