Magnet Galleries Presents: Exhibition by RÜDIGER WASSER
You’re Invited to Magnet Galleries’ June Exhibition: Two Strikingly Contrasting Photographic Series by German Artist RÜDIGER WASSER
JUNKSPACE – Dystopian Aesthetics
Rüdiger Wasser presents a thought-provoking photographic series exploring the privatisation of public space and the erasure of identity in globalised urban environments. Through stark visual narratives, Junkspace reveals how neoliberal architecture fosters commercial, impersonal spaces—challenging the illusion of “public” space in cities increasingly shaped by market-driven design.
In Luminous Contrast: EMBRACED BY LIGHT
A poetic exploration of the female body in conversation with light. Using projections—ranging from the organic to the abstract—Wasser transforms the body into a living canvas. Printed on satin, the images reflect the softness and texture of skin, creating a tactile visual experience. This powerful series reclaims the female form as an empowered, expressive presence—both muse and creator—in a radiant narrative.
Opening Date: Friday 13 June 6:30 – 8:30pm.
Meet the speaker, Dr. Rory Hyde, Associate Professor of Architecture in the School of Design, University of Melbourne.
