ALPAKA Presents: Carrying LOUD for Melbourne Design Week 2025
15 minds. One provocation. Carry mutated, exploded, and multiplied.
Carrying Loud is a project that invites creatives to redefine carry as a genre-defying act of design. While often linked to bags or soft goods, carrying transcends these boundaries — cranes carry, bookshelves carry, even our hands carry. It challenges designers to reinterpret carry in innovative, thought-provoking ways, offering fresh perspectives on utility, expression, and connection.
Carrying Loud bridges creative exploration with industry readiness. In partnership with Alpaka, creatives can gain access to manufacturing resources, global networks, and pathways to transform concepts into commercially viable products. This program celebrates Melbourne’s creative ecosystem by fostering emerging talent and driving collaboration. More than an exhibition, Carrying Loud is a movement — a bold statement on how design can inspire transformation, connection, and a better, more sustainable tomorrow.
Featuring 15 designers, some emerging others award winning. Australia’s Next Top Designer winner Maryam Moghadam, and other award winning designers such as Carl Broesen, Nysa Rohatgi, Katrina Ramm. Additionally, featuring Amelia Di Battista, Barnabas Wouters-Dean, Benjamin Tang, Hannah Price, Kelly Chua, Marty Whittle, Maximillian O’Brien, Melvin Josh, Otto Monsted, Riley, Sarah Macleod.
Fresh voices, ideas, and talent.
