Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

HOYTS offers wheelchair-friendly seating and accessible entry for visitors with restricted mobility. To reserve your space, click the wheelchair icon in the seating plan before proceeding with your booking. If you’re accompanied by a companion or carer, select the seat next to your wheelchair space before continuing to the ticket selection page. On the ticket selection page, choose the number of tickets you require, then click ‘Proceed’ to finalise your booking.

Does the venue provide audio description for visitors who are blind or have low vision?

To assist guests who are blind or have low vision, HOYTS offers Audio Description (AD) for most movies. During booking, look for the AD icon next to the session times. Find out more

Does the venue provide captioned sessions?

HOYTS offers Open Caption (OC) sessions, which display text and sound descriptions directly on the cinema screen. During booking, look for the OC icon next to the session times. Find out more

They also offer Closed Caption (CC) sessions, which provide text and sound descriptions on a small LED display screen with a flexible support arm that fits into the seat’s cup holder. During booking, look for the CC icon next to the session times. Find out more

Does the venue offer sensory-friendly or relaxed sessions?

HOYTS hosts special Sensory Screenings one Saturday morning each month. The lights are dimmed and the volume is lowered to create a calm and comfortable environment for guests with autism or sensory sensitivities. These sessions aim to make the cinema experience more inclusive, safe, and enjoyable for everyone. Find out more

Are there additional accessibility features available?

HOYTS has partnered with the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne to provide a HOYTS Beanbag Cinema, designed to accommodate hospital beds and medical equipment. Inpatients, outpatients, siblings, parents, and carers can enjoy the latest G or PG-rated movies free of charge.
