Meet the Founding Director: Ming-Li “Minx” Hafon

At the heart of The MBassy Dance Studio is Ming-Li “Minx” Hafon, a creative, storyteller, and fierce advocate for dance culture. With over 16 years of teaching, choreography, and judging experience, Minx is known for her versatility across street dance styles, including Hip Hop, Dancehall, Salsa, and her standout specialties in Reggaeton and Latin Fusion.

Her experience spans stages and studios across Europe, North America, Asia, and Australia, and her achievements speak for themselves. Minx has earned five Australian professional solo Reggaeton titles, featured in So You Think You Can Dance Australia’s Top 100, and led her competition troupe MFassis Crew to 16 National titles to date. In 2019, she also became the youngest recipient of an Award of Excellence recognising her commitment to the Australian Latin dance scene.

With a decade of experience in national event management across street dance communities, Minx brings a clear vision to The MBassy Dance Studio: strengthening Melbourne’s street Latin scene through community-driven, collaborative projects that welcome everyone in.
