The sculpture depicts Rabbitwoman and Dogman hosting a grand banquet for an array of birds, symbolising unity, diversity, and the importance of protecting our feathered friends.
Set in The District Docklands’ Event Plaza, this interactive art installation offers a one-of-a-kind experience in Melbourne. Three empty seats at the banquet table invite you to sit, snap a photo, and reflect on the role birds play in our environment. An accompanying plaque shares insights into the artwork’s meaning, inspiring action for conservation.
A Message from the Artists
Gillie and Marc are celebrated for their thought-provoking public art, using sculptures to spark conversations about wildlife and sustainability. For Marc, this piece carries a personal connection to Melbourne’s rich birdlife: “Growing up here, I was always mesmerised by the vibrant birds in our parks and along the Yarra River.
